Superb Stays in South Africa

We thought you’d like to know where oth­ers are hav­ing fant­astic exper­i­ences in South Africa. Once a week, we’ll do a round up of the very best guest reviews received from trav­el­lers using the SA-Venues.com web­site to book their accom­mod­a­tion for their South African holidays.

1). The first review which really stood out for us last week, was from Mike Cowie of Oyster Bay, who stayed at Montagu Country Hotel (in the Western Cape) in July of 2009. Mike had this to say about his time at the Montagu Country Hotel ...

“Arrived and the staff were so wel­com­ing, all the staff on duty that even­ing wanted to do some­thing to make you feel so at home. The wel­come was really over­whelm­ing and so friendly, even the glass of local Muscadel had the warm­ing effect. The rooms very warm and cosy, the views were breath­tak­ing. It was what we needed being on hol­i­day, a place to relax and feel at home.

The high­light was being driven around the town and neigh­bour­ing area of Montagu in one of their clas­sic cars.  We were for­tu­nate enough to have a guided tour by PJ in their 1956 Cadillac.  I would def­in­itely pay them to take me out to a couple of wine estates situ­ated close by for the day and just enjoy the wine, the con­ver­sa­tions and obvi­ously listen­ing to the Beatles play­ing while enjoy­ing your com­fort­able relax­ing ride.

2). The second review that stood out and made us want to "pack up and go there now", is the fol­low­ing review sub­mit­ted by Vicky Rumble of Durban, who stayed at Mkuze Falls Game Lodge (in KwaZulu Natal) in July of 2009. Vicky had this to say about her stay at Mkuze Falls:

“Although our stay was short it is a time we will never for­get. Game drives were amaz­ing as they took us right to the action, we saw more in 2 days than we had seen in 2 yrs at other game parks. The staff was very friendly and help­ful. Meals dur­ing our stay as well as snacks and high tea were lovely. We enjoyed stay­ing in the ten­ted lodge and I would recom­mend Mkuze Falls to anyone.”
