Valued at R6000, the prize includes:

  • scrumptious breakfasts, with a menu that changes daily
  • a bottle of local estate wine on arrival

138 Marine Beachfront Guesthouse

The highlight of our visit to South Africa: the welcome, the service, the breakfast and the views – but best of all watching whales over morning coffee … (Emily & Gary, Ireland)

No attention to detail has been spared in the superbly stylish décor at this Hermanus Hotel.  The luxurious designer suites are individually fitted with all modern comforts, meeting international standards: king or queen-sized beds decked in 400-thread count Percale linen, underfloor heating, satellite TV, and wireless internet access.

Enjoy magnificent views of breaking waves and spectacular African sunsets over the ocean, while relaxing with a glass of wine in front of the cozy log fire – or stroll along the coastal path that winds its way between fynbos, rocks and tidal pools.

Can there be a more scenic setting to wake up to? Matched by the welcome and comfort of the house. Truly memorable! (Bob Sims, Chorleywood, Hertfordshire)

We have had the privelidge of visiting wonderful Hermanus, some time back, we are moving on in years (pensioners) and would love to return, maybe once more, but looking at some of the hopeful comments of folks who have never been to your shores and seen the whales and much more that Hermanus has to offer, we feel, almost apologetic, in submitting our entry.

Thank you very much for the wonderful price that I have won. What a wonderful experience it was to stay at 138 Marine Beachfront GuesHouse- My husband and I was so spoiled that we didn’t want to go back home – The room was stunning- the staff wonderful and the breakfast as well as the bottle of Boland Wine and that romantic picnic was to die for – the best breakfasts( and it really change every day) we ever had and we do travel a lot. We stay at the Guest house from 24 August until today(I want to go back!!) and we saw a lot of whales at Grotto Beach near Hermanus. Thanks again Jena, Celeste and Louis for the wonderful stay – Elizabeth and Leslie Groenewald – Brackenfell/Cape Town/South Africa
