I ♥ St Francis Bay

Hi, I’m Chantelle from St Francis Bay in the Eastern Cape.

ST FRANCIS BAY IS BEST KNOWN FOR its unspoilt beaches, tranquility and relaxed charm.

GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN AT The Dunes whilst on a Frogging Safari!

THE BEST SUNSET PICTURES CAN BE TAKEN AT Sunset Rocks.

OTHER HAPPY SNAPS watching Jackass Penguins being released into the Indian Ocean and bird-watching at the various nature reserves in the area.

WHEN THE WEATHER’S GOOD I LIKE TO take a dune walk and explore the story of the Strandlopers who lived here many, many years ago; swim in the ocean and feel the sand between my toes; play a round of golf at The St Francis Links

WHEN THE WEATHER’S BAD I LIKE TO be pampered with an African inspired massage in the Bush Spa or take a leisurely drive to nearby Baviaanskloof and be awed by the beauty of this vast wilderness.

FOR LUNCH, I SUGGEST freshly grilled fish or Sushi at Christy’s Catch.

MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IS Christy’s Catch; try the Seafood Platter for two!

BEST LATE NIGHT SNACK FROM … after a day in the sun and the St Francis Bay fresh air, I am usually asleep early!

MY FAVOURITE AFTERNOON TEA SPOT IS Rambling Rose with its magnificent cakes!

FOR A NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN TRY the Full Stop Bar in Cape St Francis.

ST FRANCIS BAY’S BEST KEPT SECRET IS The Dunes Country House.

FOR SOME LIVE MUSIC I LIKE TO GO TO Potters Place who showcase local musicians.

TO RELAX AND RESTORE MY SOUL, I LIKE TO walk the dunes, stroll the beach or be pampered in the Bush Spa.

IF YOU’RE FEELING ADVENTUROUS, TRY surfing a local break!

MY FAVOURITE WALK IS walking through the dune fields is like nothing else! Constantly shifting due to the elements, something new always presents itself.

MY FAVOURITE GIFT SHOP IS Veranda.

MY FAVOURITE DOLPHIN WATCHING SPOT IS at Seals Beach in Cape St Francis.

IF YOU’RE HERE IN JULY, JOIN IN THE FUN AT THE International Billabong Surfing Contest.

MY FAVOURITE GALLERY IS Thatchwoods Gallery who regularly showcase local artists.

TRAVELLING WITH CHILDREN? A FUN OUTING IS doing a frogging safari at The Dunes Country House.

BEST CHEAP AND CHEERFUL OUTING IS Visiting the penguins at the Rescue Centre.

WHEN MONEY IS NO OBJECT, I LIKE TO splurge on Spa treatments …

THE MOST UNUSUAL THING I SEE HERE IS the migratory birds and the veracious honey badgers.

MY FAVOURITE WEEKEND GETAWAY IS to the bush.

WHEN I WANT TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY I donate to the local Children’s Fund.

I LOVE St Francis Bay because I get to breathe fresh air and love a town without traffic lights!
