I Love Glentana Because …

Send to Kindle
I ♥ Glentana

I ♥ Glentana

Hi, we are Chris and Marita Loch from Outeniqua on C in Glentana on the Garden Route, South Africa.

Glentana IS BEST KNOWN FOR its beautiful beach, miles and miles of sandy shore stretches towards Mossel Bay.

GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN on the beach at sunset from November to January when the sun sets over Mossel Bay.

THE BEST sunset PICTURES CAN BE TAKEN from the dune in front of Outeniqua on C.

OTHER HAPPY SNAPS AT the main beach of Glentana or the stranded dry dock.

WHEN THE WEATHER’S GOOD, I LIKE TO walk along the beach, looking for the rare pansy shell.

I ♥ Glentana

I ♥ Glentana

WHEN THE WEATHER’S BAD, I LIKE TO sit and watch the different moods of the ocean.

I THINK THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT IS all year round, BECAUSE the weather is rated second best in the world after Hawaii.

MY FAVOURITE BREAKFAST SPOT IS Outeniqua on C.

FOR LUNCH, I SUGGEST Glentana Strand Cafe and Restaurant.

MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IS Transkaroo, TRY THE lamb’s neck.

BEST LATE NIGHT SNACK FROM De Dekke.

MY FAVOURITE SPOT IS Outeniqua on C.

FOR A NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN TRY walking down the street – it is safe! Or go to The Garden Route Casino (40km).

IF YOU WANT TO MEET LOCALS, GO TO De Dekke.

I ♥ Glentana

I ♥ Glentana

Glentana’s BEST KEPT SECRET IS its peace and tranquility and yet it is within easy reach of many towns with restaurants, doctors, entertainment, malls, etc.

MY FAVOURITE THING TO DO WITH FRIENDS IS having a braai outside.

FOR SOME LIVE MUSIC, I LIKE TO GO TO De Dekke on a Wednesday or Saturday evening.

TO RELAX AND RESTORE MY SOUL, I LIKE TO sit on the bench in front of Outeniqua on C and watch the waves roll in and out.

IF YOU’RE FEELING ADVENTUROUS, TRY wind-surfing.

MY FAVOURITE DRIVE IS along the coast between Mossel Bay and Plettenberg Bay, some of the most beautiful nature scenes in all of the world are to be found here on the Garden Route.

I ♥ Glentana

I ♥ Glentana

MY FAVOURITE SHOP IS … I don’t have a favourite shop, because there aren’t any! Glentana does not have any shops, but we are close enough to a number of towns where you can buy everything and anything you want / need.

MY FAVOURITE whale and dolphin WATCHING SPOT IS Outeniqua on C.

IF YOU’RE HERE IN February, JOIN IN THE FUN AT the Dias Festival (Mossel Bay is only 30km  away). The Buffalo Rally is held in March every year.

MY FAVOURITE GALLERY IS Maria’s Gallery in Mossel Bay. CHECK OUT THE artwork.

MY FAVOURITE BUILDINGS ARE the historic buildings in Mossel Bay, FOR ITS sandstone.

TRAVELLING WITH CHILDREN? A FUN OUTING IS going to Blaster’s in Mossel Bay.

BEST CHEAP AND CHEERFUL OUTING IS playing on the beach or between the dunes.

WHEN MONEY’S NO OBJECT, I LIKE TO go to the KKNK (Annual Afrikaans Cultural Festival) in March / April only 80km from Outeniqua on C.

THE MOST UNUSUAL THING I SEE HERE IS the black oyster catcher breeding and hatching on the dune in front of Outeniqua on C.

MY FAVOURITE WEEKEND GETAWAY IS driving to one of the surrounding towns Knysna (Water Front), Mossel Bay, George, Oudtshoorn (Cango Caves, ostrich farms), Stilbaai, Plettenberg Bay for some sightseeing and eating out in one of the many fine restaurants.

WHEN I WANT TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, I motivate my guests to respect mother nature and to uphold our best asset which is peace and quiet.

Be sure to visit the Wild Oat’s Farmer’s Market in Sedgefield held every Saturday. George also has a Farmer’s Market on Saturdays and Great Brak River has a Market every first Saturday of the month. Use Outeniqua on C as a base to explore The Garden Route and Little Karoo. We are within 80km radius from all places of historic, cultural, adrenalin-based and scenic interest in the area.

I Love Glentana BECAUSE when you drive down the hill from George airport’s side (only 15km from Outeniqua on C), you feel peace and quiet descend upon you.

Outeniqua on C

Outeniqua on C

Outeniqua on C

Outeniqua on C is a spotlessly clean, light and bright establishment located virtually on the pristine sandy beach at Glentana / Outeniqua Strand. We are midway between Mossel Bay and George and the closest shops, restaurants and filling station are at the little village of Great Brak River about 7km away. George airport is just 15km away. If your wish is for peace, privacy and tranquillity, we would like to share our comfortable home and stunning surroundings with you. The beach just 60m away is reached with our private panhandle – no streets to cross. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves breaking on the beach.
