I ♥ Kempton Park

I ♥ Kempton Park

Hi, I’m Karen Swanepoel from Nkanga Lodge in Kempton Park on the East Rand in Gauteng.

Kempton Park IS BEST KNOWN FOR OR Tambo International, Africa’s busiest airport, which is located in Kempton Park.

GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN AT Kempton Park Golf Course; this is where Ernie Els learned to played golf when he was growing up.

THE BEST outdoor PICTURES CAN BE TAKEN AT Modderfontein Conservation Park which is home to 253 different bird species, small populations of Black-Backed Jackal, Steenbok, Duiker, Genet, Zebra, Black Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Blesbok, Reedbuck and Highveld springbok.

OTHER HAPPY SNAPS AT a fun night out at Emperors Palace.

WHEN THE WEATHER’S GOOD, I LIKE TO play golf at one of our many golf courses including Serengeti the home of the SA Golf Open in 2011.

WHEN THE WEATHER’S BAD, I LIKE TO catch a movie at the Pantheon Cinema at Emperors Palace, which seats 500 people and is the largest cinema in Africa.

I THINK THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT IS December, BECAUSE it is holiday time in South Africa and everything is relaxed and festive.

MY FAVOURITE BREAKFAST SPOT IS The Deck at Serengeti Golf Club.

FOR LUNCH, I SUGGEST The Deck at Serengeti Golf Club for a relaxed lunch, Mugg and Bean Woodbridge for a light lunch.

MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IS 33 High Street Modderfontein, TRY everything on the menu, the gardens are beautiful and it’s a great place to meet friends for lunch or dinner.

Kempton Park’s BEST KEPT SECRET IS the Modderfontein Conservation Park.

MY FAVOURITE THING TO DO WITH FRIENDS IS catch the Gautrain from OR Tambo or Rhodesfield Station to Sandton, Rosebank or Pretoria Accommodation; it’s an awesome way to get to see our city.

FOR SOME LIVE MUSIC, I LIKE TO GO TO the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace or The Barnyard Theatre.

TO RELAX AND RESTORE MY SOUL, I LIKE TO book a treatment at Octavia’s Spa.

MY FAVOURITE WALK OR HIKE would be at the Modderfontein Country Club.

MY FAVOURITE flower SHOP IS Bunches @ Home.

MY FAVOURITE bird WATCHING SPOT IS the Modderfontein Conservation Park.

WHEN MONEY’S NO OBJECT, I LIKE TO book a full spa package at Octavia’s.

MY FAVOURITE WEEKEND GETAWAY IS going to the Waterberg in Limpopo with the Marekele National Park for the weekend.

WHEN I WANT TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, I collect blankets for the 94.7 and Jacaranda Blanket drives and Santa’s Shoe box over the Christmas period.
