Enter the Mr, Miss or Junior Miss uShaka Marine World competition

uShaka King & Queens!

uShaka King & Queens!

If you’re in tip-top shape and love the sea, splash out and enter the biggest and best beauty pageant in Kwa-Zulu Natal, the Mr, Miss or Junior Miss uShaka Marine World competition.

A firm favourite on the uShaka Marine World Calendar the ‘pageant’ is now into its seventh year and is gaining popularity all the time.  Nestle has joined the competition as a sponsor and with their help, uShaka is offering massive prizes for this year’s competition, including up to R50 000 in cash.  Not a bad incentive to enter this year is it.

However, just because it’s a seaside beauty event does not mean that its just about having a good bikini (or Speedo!) body.  Strong leadership and ambassadorial skills are just as important and these factors will make the winner of the competition the perfect representative for uShaka Marine World and other sponsors at various events.  The winner will also be part of the Dolphin Dash fundraising event for Sea Animal Rescue – so you’ve been warned, it’s an important role to fill.

March 12th is the day of the semi-finals of the competition and this will take place at uShaka’s Village Walk Shopping Mall.  The final of takes place six weeks later on April 30th at the Standard Bank Dolphin Stadium.

Previous winners have included Megan Coleman who was Miss South Africa in 2006, Jeslin Ganasen (Mr SA Model of the Year 2006), Melody Zulu who was picked in the top five of the Nokia Face of Africa in 2006 and was also a Miss SA Finalist. Patrick Kasango came second in last year’s Mr South Africa 2010.  Last years Miss uShaka, Lemari Smit was crowned Miss Northern Gauteng and has just won Miss Umhlanga 2010 and won the National Academy Cup (NAC). Junior Miss uShaka Sholene Ramdass was a finalist in Miss Teen SA 2010.

How to Enter:

Girls aged between 13 and 16 can enter the Junior Miss uShaka. Girls and guys who are 17 and over can enter the Mr and Miss uShaka. Entry is free and the closing date for entries is Monday, 28th February.
