uShaka World Cup

uShaka Marine World is offering a real cultural experience for both international visitors and locals during the World Cup. Come and be introduced to the Zulu Kingdom with this singing and dancing spectacle brought to you in this magical setting, “Under African Skies” will be a night to remember.

What is this show all about? I have told you it will be a singing and dancing extravaganza but what I haven’t told you is that there are very special performers in the production. Dancing and diving diva’s and showmen will be entertaining you as the dolphin’s of Seaworld Affrika, Tombi, Khanya, Zulu, Kelpie, Jula, Khwezi and Ingelosi light up the stage. The star of the show the largest bottlenose dolphin in any oceanarium in the world, named Gambit, will make his grand entrance on stage …

With a wonderful musical line up the sounds of Africa will come alive under Durban’s blanket of stars. With songs from Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Ipi Thombi, Johnny Clegg and Mango Grove as well as ululating women, the rhythmic slapping of gumboot dancing, beautiful melodies sung accapella style and the constant beat of the African drum.

The words of Paul Simon’s song, which’s title is also the name of the show, “Under African Skies” hints at the magic and story behind this show.

“This is the story of how we begin to remember
This is the powerful pulsing of love in the veins
After the dream of falling and calling your name out
These are the roots of the rhythm and the roots of rhythm remain.”

Come and experience Durban under the night sky, in this beautiful setting with a tale of culture and love. Africa in all her glory… An unforgettable evening!
