Hi Tessa

There are a number of tour operators who take travellers to the Kruger Park, see: http://www.sa-venues.com/travel/mpumalanga/touroperators.php, but if you were to stay at a privately owned lodge, rather than one of the state run rest camps, your accommodation would include 2 guided game drives daily. These game drives take place in safari vehicles and you would be accompanied by an armed (just in case) and very informative guide. The guides in the Kruger Park are incredible ... part tracker, part academic, part Indiana Jones. A highly recommended experience!
