Experience the best in stand-up comedy this winter at Cape Town’s Baxter Theatre in Rondebosch with talent from across the world and of course our very own local talent. The award-winning Vodacom Funny Festival showcases stand-up performers including Imran Yusuf and Alan Committie to name a few from Monday 11 June to Saturday 7 July 2012. This year expect a number of surprises during the show.

The Cape Town Book Fair from Friday 15 June to Sunday 17 June 2012 is set to continue writing its story in style this year! This event will be an extravaganza to literary entertainment for both booklovers and the book world. There will be books galore and special guests that will delight any book fundi. Greyton MTB Classic

Come and be a part of what promises to be the biggest Napier Patat Festival from Friday 15 June to Sunday 17 June 2012 in Napier. The event boasts one of the most beautiful but also challenging half marathons and a scenic mountain bike race. All nine restaurants in this tiny but quaint village will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner during the weekend and Napier will again prove itself worthy of its accolade as the food capital of the Cape Overberg. The Greyton MTB Classic is a challenge for all athletes as you can take part in a 45km, 21km or 10km mountain bike race, 21km or 10km trail run or a 21km or 10km biathlon. From Thursday 14 June to Sunday 17 June 2012 you can take part in the Royal McNab at the Mountain View Country Inn in Lady Grey. Hunters from all over the country come to take part in this event. The main event begins at 06h00 on Saturday morning and you’ll need to catch a trout, shoot both a Mountain Reedbuck and Greywing Francolin within the 12 hours alloted to the event. Take a Step for Children

Take a Step for Children

Join us in Nelspruit on Saturday 16 June 2012 at the Riverside Park Precinct for the 2nd annual Take a Step for Children 10km Charity Road Race and 3km Carnival Fun Walk. There will be entertainment for the whole family including clowns, jugglers, stilt walkers and minstrels. This year’s beneficiaries include Nelspruit Child Welfare, Nelspruit Community Forum and Sandzile Primary School Kabokweni.

Events in KwaZulu Natal:

The Top Gear Festival is making its debut at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, KwaZulu Natal on Saturday 16 June to Sunday 17 June 2012. Top Gear fans will be happy to hear that the festival, will be hosted by the full Top Gear Team of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May and The Stig who will be pushing the boundaries of live motoring festivities as they perform to their biggest audience to date. Spectators can also expect some of the world’s finest supercars as well as cars modified beyond belief.
