Weekly Events Round Up (13-19 Feb 2012)
Love is in the air this week with Valentine’s Day on Tuesday. Valentine’s Day tends to put a bit of pressure on people to come up with an idea for the perfect date so we’ve decided to help you out with a couple of romantic, and fun things to do this week.

Events in Gauteng:
You can extend your Valentine’s Day celebrations to Friday 17 February 2012 by heading to Duncan Yard in Hatfield, Pretoria for a Strawberries & Champagne Evening where you can stroll down cobble stone pathways as you indulge in nature’s juiciest strawberries and sparkling wine.
Also Duncan Yard will be holding a University Book Sale on Wednesday 15 February 2012 giving students a platform to get rid of old text books and fellow students to obtain second hand text books.
If you want to get new ideas for where you would like to go for your holidays this year we suggest you visit the Beeld Holiday Show at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 February 2012. The show exhibits various holiday activities from camping to overseas travel destinations.
To keep with the love theme brides-to-be can attend the Expo4Brides from Saturday 18 to Sunday 19 February 2012 at the Tshwane Event Centre in Pretoria. With more than 120 specialists in the bridal business exhibiting their products and services you are sure to find all you need to create your romantic Wedding day.
For anyone looking for sporting events in Gauteng this week – check out the Tuks Half Marathon and 10km run to be held in the suburb of Hatfield in Pretoria Accommodation on Saturday 18 February 2012 or you could also head to Midrand on Sunday 19 February 2012 for the Makhulu Swim at the Leisure Lakes dam, exciting events for both spectator and competitors.

Events in the Eastern Cape
It’s a sporting week in the East Cape starting with the Wild Coast Ultra trail running event taking place from Port St John to East-London held over 6 days from Monday 13 to Saturday 18 February 2012. Surfers, athletes, walkers and paddlers will be heading to the Eastern Cape shoreline on Saturday 18 February 2012 for the Discovery Surfers Challenge. This marathon starts from Yellow Sands at the Kwelera River mouth and finishes at Nahoon Beach in East London. Come and enjoy this challenge as once you don your shoes for your first surfers marathon you are usually hooked!
The Spar Redhouse River Mile on Sunday 19 February 2012 is Africa’s oldest open water swimming event, started in 1924 and has become a must do event in South Africa! So bring a picnic and head to Cannonville Village to make a day of it on the banks of the Sundays River.

Events in KwaZulu Natal:
Canoeing enthusiast will be heading to Pietermaitzburg from Thursday 16 to Saturday 18 February 2012 for the Dusi Canoe Marathon which takes place on the Msunduzi River, more commonly known as the Dusi / Duzi river. The race paddles down from Pietermaritzburg and ends 3 days later in Durbs. This 3 day event is sure to be exciting and challenging for all paddlers.
