If you haven’t thought about what you’re going to do next week, we’ve come up with a list of some of the most exciting events that will be taking place. We will now be giving you a weekly round up of the upcoming events and festivals throughout South Africa.

We will keep you up to date with the hip and happening events that you can attend. Think sports, entertainment, culture and more. Break out your diaries and start phoning your friends to make sure you don’t miss out.

There are a host of fun events that take place every week and we really don’t want you to be the last person to hear about them at the coffee station on Monday morning. So check back with us on Fridays to find out what’s going on …

Events in the Western Cape:

Join the popular Castle Cape Town Tens at Hamilton Rugby Club, Green Point from 3–4 February 2012 for an exciting sporting event for rugby fans including a music line-up, appearances from local and international rugby legends, competitions and giveaways, and a new addition, an exciting rugby expo. The live entertainment will include the popular group Goodluck, The Graeme Watkins Project, The Lightyears and Me and Mr Brown. Tickets are available from Computicket.

For classical and contemporary chamber music, popular choir works and jazz lovers travel to Darling from 3-12 February 2012 to enjoy and experience the Darling Music Experience. The venues for the concerts vary between Darlings lovely old Presbyterian Church, the modern Vereenigende Reformeerde Kerk, a picturesque wine estate and a factory turned music hall.

Events in the Eastern Cape:

If you are in the Eastern Cape and a keen mountain bike rider why not head to the Addo for the Herald Cycle Tour on 4 February. This year’s event has a brand new 85km Feature Race taking riders through some extremely technical terrain, and you may even get the chance to spot one of the mighty Addo elephants along the route.

The most memorable day in the life of most people is their wedding day and this year’s Bridal Indaba on 4 & 5 February 2012 at the Indaba Hotel in Fourways, Sandton will make every brides dream a reality! Along with the designer fashion show there are exhibitions to assist brides-to-be in planning her special day with bridal workshops, that will include presentations by wedding specialists on all aspects to ensure a beautiful day.

Take a Sunday drive on 5 February 2012 towards the Lovers Rock Family Resort, Rustenburg Road (R24), Magaliesberg, to come and see the 2012 Lovers Rock Annual Vintage and Classic Car Show. Between 150 and 200 of the finest motor cars will be on display, so pack your picnic basket and swimming gear for an enjoyable day out. Make your way to the venue from 08h00 to 18h00 and bring some cash because there will be food stalls and a tuck shop.

Lace up your running shoes to join us at the McCarthy Toyota Half Marathon and 10km run at Rietondale Park, Riviera in Pretoria on Saturday 4 February 2012. Come and visit Haenertsburg village in Limpopo 3-5 February 2012 for a long weekend of family fun, picking, eating and enjoying delicious, healthy berries at the Berry Festival.
