Daddy Bloom

If you thought it wasn’t possible to see flowers in full bloom on top of a roof, then think again because the Grand Daddy Hotel has made this possible with the first rooftop garden show in their Airsteam Trailer Park.

The show runs from 8-11 October 2009 and won’t be just another flower show. This flower show is taking the concept to a new level and won’t just be showing natural blossoms. You can expect to see live indigenous gardens that will house a collection of creative installations carefully created with spirals of metal, wooly nests and beaded blooms …

The 12 finalists are competing for a cash prize of R1000 as well as a number of other exciting goodies and so they will ensure that their designs are creative and inspiring. By visiting the exhibit you have a chance to influence who will win by voting for your favourite design.

The show is open from 11h00 to 18h00 daily and a cash donation to the Daddy Long Legs Group’s Feed Me Daddy Charity can be made on arrival. Delicious cupcakes and teas will be on sale, so you can feed your tummy and your soul at the same time.

For those of you who don’t know what the Airsteam Trailer Park is, let me give you a quick rundown … This is a unique concept that sits on the roof of the Grand Daddy Hotel.  Seven imported vintage Airstream Trailers were handed over to local artists and designers for an imaginative makeover. The result is a collection of rooftop suites that plays with the imagination and the senses.

A number of events are held at this venue and we will keep you up to date with the new and exciting events as they take place.
