Get a Tattoo – Southern Ink Xposure 2011

Send to Kindle

Have you got an urge to put ink to skin but need a bit of professional advice and guidance?  Or perhaps you want to add to the designs you already have and are looking for whats new on the design scene?  Look no further then … Southern Ink Xposure 2011 is on in Cape Town from January 28 to 30th.

Southern Ink Xposure 2011 The chosen venue is the Pavilion Convention Centre at the V&A Waterfront.  This location was chosen to provide both artists and visitors with a more intimate experience.  An entertainment area mirroring the burlesque acts of Vaudeville will be open throughout the weekend so if you fancy a belly dancing lesson then you know where to go!

Southern Ink Xposure 2011 which opens tomorrow has promised to make this the best convention so far; taking the 2009 and 2010 events and raising the level even higher.  There will be more entertainment, more vendors, a bigger art exhibition, a new venue and to draw the crowds dozens of local and international tattoo artists from 14 countries around the world.  Among the artists is world-renowned black and grey artist Andy Shou who hails from Taiwan.  Yushi Takei specializes in traditional Japanese artistry and Laura Juan from Spain impresses with her brilliant colour portraits.

If that’s not enough for you make sure you head to one of the after parties, complete with tattooed bands at venues in the city. A few are listed below:

Miss Behave at Club Voom Voom on Friday, January 28th. Also featuring Peachy Keen, Them Tornados and The Bone Collectors.  DJ Honey B will keep the party going before and after the bands perform.

Live Fast Die Last will be at Zulu Lounge on Long Street on January 29th.  Ree-Burth will entertain alongside The Revelators while special guests Wolf Town and DJ Sideshow keep the music flowing in between sets.

So, if you are in the market for a tattoo, Southern Ink Xposure is the best place to be this weekend.
