Moscow Circus, Andre Rieu, Spandau Ballet & Wayne Brady at Grand West
If you haven’t been to Grand West Casino & Entertainment World in Goodwood, Cape Town you should definitely make a plan to get there. It is not only for those who like to gamble, there are plenty activities for the whole family.
The Grand Arena is a huge concert area that has seen the likes of South Africa’s top rock band the Parlotones and international sensations Kelly Clarkson and Tom Jones. The Great Moscow Circus has returned to South Africa and will be dazzling the Grand Arena with highly trained performers and world-class acts. Young and old will enjoy the fun and games of the circus from 16-27 April 2010.
On 1, 2 and 3 May you can watch the world’s most successful touring artist of 2009, Andre Rieu perform on stage. Rieu is known for his ability to make classical music accessible to all ages, come and listen to him perform with his 50 piece Johan Strauss Orchestra.
Spandau Ballet has had 23 hit singles and is one of the most successful bands of the 1980‘s. Hear them perform on 5 May with opening act Alphaville, also famed in the 80‘s with their hit “Forever Young”. Relieve a bit of your youth this night.
Hungry for a bit of comedy? Wayne Brady returns to the Cape Town stage with “Making it Up”. Prepare yourself for a night of laughter, improvisation, singing and dancing. This is a performance not to be missed.
If you decide to grab a bite to eat before one of these shows why not stop at one of Grand West’s restaurants. From the Cape Town Fish Market to Bukhara, Beijing Orchid to Bella Gina you can take a trip round the world for various dishes. There is also a food court for those who prefer things on the go.
Children are not forgotten at Grand West, they can catch a movie at the Nu Metro cinema, play some games at the Magic Castle – indoor games or Ten-pin bowling. Or why not glide on the ice at the Ice Station, but remember to dress warmly and bring an extra pair of socks.
