Bloubergstrand IS BEST KNOWN FOR best known for its spectacular views of Table Mountain, its white sandy beaches and vibrant outdoor activities. And don’t forget the friendly people!
GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN on the beachfront with Table Mountain as the backdrop.
THE BEST evening PICTURES CAN BE TAKEN AT the beach with a captivating sunset over Robben Island. Not only has it been used as a prison, where former South African president Nelson Mandela spent 27 years imprisoned, but it was also a training and defense station during World War II, a hospital.
OTHER HAPPY SNAPS AT Small Bay or Big Bay. Big Bay falls within a Marine Nature Reserve and is only 20 minutes away from the Cape Town city centre and since it is so close to Melkbosstrand can also be called the start of the Cape West Coast.
WHEN THE WEATHER’S GOOD, I LIKE TO have an exhilarating run along the promenade.
WHEN THE WEATHER’S BAD, I LIKE TO sneak away to Bayside or Canal Walk. Alternatively, I warm up by going to Virgin Active or I cook up a storm.

FOR A NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN TRY Cubana. This is a great cocktail and cigar bar where you can spend some time with friends eating food or party into the night with some really good music.
IF YOU WANT TO MEET LOCALS, GO TO Doodles on the beachfront or Buckleys. Doodles is a landmark in Blouberg and has been operating for more than 2 decades. The staff are friendly and there is always a great atmosphere and view.
Bloubergstrand’s BEST KEPT SECRET IS the very scenic walking or running strip stretching from Dolphin Beach all the way to Big Bay. If you feel adventurous and energetic you can go even further!
MY FAVOURITE THING TO DO WITH FRIENDS IS to hang out at the Blue Peter. This is one of the oldest sites in Bloubergstrand dating all the way back to the 19th centuary.
