Hi, I’m Kerstin Fritz from House Fritz in Highlands Estate.
GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN AT the foot of Table Mountain because from here you can walk right to the top of this famous landmark.
THE BEST sunset PICTURES CAN BE TAKEN AT the terrace of Unit 1 of House Fritz.
OTHER HAPPY SNAPS AT the pool of House Fritz.
WHEN THE WEATHER’S GOOD, I LIKE TO swim in our pool.
WHEN THE WEATHER’S BAD, I LIKE TO go to the V & A Waterfront. The list of shops is endless and with restaurants and cinemas you will be entertained until the rain clears.
I THINK THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT IS May, BECAUSE the weather is not to hot or cold and there is no wind.
MY FAVOURITE BREAKFAST SPOT IS Deerpark Cafe. This is a great spot if you have children; there is ample space for them to run around.
FOR LUNCH, I SUGGEST Sidewalk Cafe. A small and bustling eatery that dishes up delicious, top quality food. The views are the perfect accompaniment to any meal!
MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IS Ocean Basket, TRY THE platter for two.
BEST LATE NIGHT SNACK FROM Butlers Pizza.
MY FAVOURITE beach SPOT IS Clifton 4th. Clifton beach is well known in Cape Town and probably even has a bit of an international reputation. The beach is divided into four distinct coves – hence the names Clifton 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
FOR A NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN TRY Long Street. There is a wide selection of restaurants, bars and pubs … the general vibe is great.
IF YOU WANT TO MEET LOCALS, GO TO Fireman’s Arms or Perseverance Pub. Firemans is one of the oldest pubs in Cape Town.
Highlands Estate’s BEST KEPT SECRET IS the Green Belt.
MY FAVOURITE THING TO DO WITH FRIENDS IS hiking and we are spoilt for choice in the part of the world!
FOR SOME LIVE MUSIC, I LIKE TO GO TO the V & A Waterfront.
TO RELAX AND RESTORE MY SOUL, I LIKE TO go to Kirstenbosch Botanic Gardens. World renowned for its beauty, the estate covers 528 hectares and grows only indigenous plants.
IF YOU’RE FEELING ADVENTUROUS, TRY abseiling from Table Mountain.
MY FAVOURITE DRIVE IS Chapmans Peak Drive. The road climbs steadily from the Hout Bay Harbour and follows the 114 curves of Chapmans peak. There are a number of stopping areas en route – ideal to just sit and enjoy the view or otherwise pack a picnic and have an al fresco lunch.
MY FAVOURITE neighbourhood goods market IS the Old Biscuit Mill at 373 – 375 Albert Road in Woodstock. The market is open every Saturday from 09h00 to 14h00.
IF YOU’RE HERE IN January, JOIN IN THE FUN AT the Cape Town Minstrel Carnival.
MY FAVOURITE GALLERY IS Iziko. CHECK OUT THE new exhibitions on offer.
MY FAVOURITE BUILDING IS the former Standard Bank building in Adderley Street, FOR ITS beauty and history.
TRAVELLING WITH CHILDREN? A FUN OUTING IS Ratanga Junction Theme Park.
BEST CHEAP AND CHEERFUL OUTING IS going to the beach.
WHEN MONEY’S NO OBJECT, I LIKE TO take a helicopter tour over the city.
THE MOST UNUSUAL THING I SEE HERE IS a falcon.
MY FAVOURITE WEEKEND GETAWAY IS Stanford.
WHEN I WANT TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, I donate clothing.
Other: Highlands Estate boasts magnificent views of Table Mountain, Signal Hill, Lions Head and the city centre with Table Bay in the background, all set in abundance of an assortment of plants and vegetation and friendly people and animals.
I Love Highlands Estate BECAUSE it is green and very central to reach highways and all other surrounding areas.
