I ♥ Riebeek Kasteel

Hi, I’m Paul Saker from Suikerbossie in Riebeek Kasteel.

Riebeek Kasteel IS BEST KNOWN FOR wine, olives, fantastic cuisine and its magical calm.

GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN AT the red cow on the green!

THE BEST PICTURES CAN BE TAKEN AT the top of the hill on the road from Malmesbury.

OTHER HAPPY SNAPS AT … just about every corner!

WHEN THE WEATHER’S GOOD, I LIKE TO cruises on my bike in any direction, every road is fantastic.

WHEN THE WEATHER’S BAD, I LIKE TO snuggle up in one of the restaurants or sit by our log fire.

I THINK THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT IS spring, BECAUSE the countryside is breathtaking.

MY FAVOURITE BREAKFAST SPOT IS Kasteelburg Country Inn & Bistro.

FOR LUNCH, I SUGGEST Auntie Pasti.

MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IS Auntie Pasti, TRY THE tapas.

BEST LATE NIGHT SNACK FROM Bar Bar Blacksheep.

MY FAVOURITE SPOT IS everywhere!

FOR A NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN TRY the pub halfway between Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek West.

IF YOU WANT TO MEET LOCALS, GO TO the pub at the bottom of Riebeek Street.

Riebeek Kasteel’s BEST KEPT SECRET IS its serenity.

MY FAVOURITE THING TO DO WITH FRIENDS IS eat, drink, chill and let your soul grow warmer.

TO RELAX AND RESTORE MY SOUL, I LIKE TO sit on the stoep with a glass of wine and gaze at the church.

IF YOU’RE FEELING ADVENTUROUS, TRY sailing on the dam.

MY FAVOURITE DRIVE IS past Riebeek West North into the desert.

MY FAVOURITE wine SHOP IS Riebeek Cellars.

MY FAVOURITE BUILDING IS the hotel, FOR ITS unspoilt Victorian splendour.

TRAVELLING WITH CHILDREN? A FUN OUTING IS through Darling to the coast.

BEST CHEAP AND CHEERFUL OUTING IS Riebeek West’s nursery, for a stunning orchid collection.

WHEN MONEY’S NO OBJECT, I LIKE TO drive to Franschhoek and eat at the best restaurant in South Africa.

THE MOST UNUSUAL THING I SEE HERE IS beautifully peaceful people.

MY FAVOURITE WEEKEND GETAWAY IS into the desert.

WHEN I WANT TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, I spend money here.

Other: The butchery on the dirt road out past Riebeek Cellars is another best kept secret … the place to go when planning a braai.

I Love Riebeek Kasteel because it touches my soul in exactly the right spot.
