Old Mac Daddy

Daddy’s World (who brought you Daddy Long Legs Hotel and the Grand Daddy Hotel and Airstream Penthouse Trailer Park in Cape Town’s Long Street, is bringing some oomph to Elgin in the form of the Old Mac Daddy Luxury Trailer Park (due to open July 2010).

Positioned on a pine-slope in the famous fruit-growing Elgin valley, the site consists of twelve vintage Airstream suites and a luxury cottage, Daddy’s Villa, with a central communal facility for meals, meetings, events and leisure activities – as well as lots of fresh air, outdoor spaces, a pool, dams and a kid’s play area…, and its all just one hour from Cape Town.

Each individual Airstream will be creatively decorated by a team of artists who are currently revamping their trailers into a series of originally conceived artworks. Two of the en-suite trailers will be perched on the dam’s edge, whilst the rest of the suites will be dotted around the camp’s hillside with a network of timber walkways. The hillside trailers will also enjoy en-suite bathrooms, as well as enclosed lounges and outdoor sundecks.

Heaven for kids, the trailer suite lounges can be converted into kid’s rooms and all children under eight will enjoy free meals, as well as the use of a dedicated, brightly themed play space indoors and out.

All of Old Mac Daddy’s generous country-style daily meals will make use of the fresh, healthy produce the Elgin region has to offer. Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy organised picnics, braais and potjies as well as a wide variety of outdoor activities that the area affords. Adventure tours, workshops and holistic activities will be the focus of week-time workshops and it is an ideal venue for intimate weddings – catering for up to 40 guests.

The Daddy’s World is committed to interacting with local businesses and the Elgin community through employment opportunities, sport and leisure activity partnerships.
