Adrenalin Junkie Activities in the Northern Cape

White Water Rafting

White Water Rafting

The gorgeous Northern Cape frequently gets a raw deal. Often ignored or overlooked for the more obviously exciting alternatives of the Eastern and Western Cape or the Limpopo, it doesn't deserve its Cinderella complex, despite its apparent desert or semi-desert state.

If anything, these beautiful arid plains interspersed with haphazard rocky outcrops, brilliant blue skies, unique fauna and flora and the icy Atlantic that washes its western boundary give it a unique beauty all its own. And when it comes to beauty nothing beats the floral carpets that cover these scrub-covered plains come spring, or the star-filled skies during evenings.

What makes this province particularly attractive to adrenaline junkies is its largely open and unpopulated spaces. Rugged trails, dusty back roads, enchanting caves, diamond fields and the Northern Cape's oasis – the Green Kalahari – offers endless outdoor adventure possibilities ... Continued

Adrenalin Junkie Activities in the Free State

River Rafting

River Rafting

Don't let the fact that the Free State is completely landlocked, and described with  regularity as 'flat', deter you from seeking adventure in this hidden treasure.

The Northern Free State, possibly because of its proximity to Gauteng, is fast earning itself a reputation for perfect weekend getaways that include the Vaal River, Vaal dam and numerous game farms that together with the Vredefort Dome, pretty undulating hills, and the 'golden country' of the Central Free State — dotted with fields of corn and sunflowers and plenty of modern little towns — and not forgetting 'Bloemies', as Bloemfontein is fondly known, combine for perfect, sun-filled adventure opportunities ... Adrenalin Junkie Activities in KwaZulu-Natal

KwaZulu Adventures

KwaZulu Adventures

KwaZulu-Natal — the part of South Africa endowed with a permanently temperate climate, the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Mountains, the Isimangaliso Wetland Park (Greater St Lucia Wetland Park), the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Park, the Elephant and Hibiscus Coasts, the Dlinza Forest and the Battlefields of the interior. There is enough adventure opportunity here for months of entertainment, never mind days.

This is the land of endless summer. The coastal heart of Ethekwini-Durban and the beaches of the north and south coasts offer endless playground material – extreme water sports, sea and wildlife adventures are two to a dime all the way to the most southern resort town of Port Edward and the far reaches of Kosi Bay and Lake Sibaya. KwaZulu-Natal is where the giant sardine shoal run occurs, and where man follows suite in rigorous events like the Comrades Marathon, the Amashovashova road race and the Dusi Canoe Marathon.

Whether its boating, turtle spotting, canoeing, snorkelling, scub diving, hiking, quad biking, whale watching, rock climbing or mountain biking you're after, KwaZulu-Natal has something for everyone seeking a thrill ... Continued

Adrenalin Junkie Activities in Gauteng

Gauteng Adventure

Gauteng Adventure

Addicted to adrenaline and you find yourself in the place of gold? Then you haven't far to look for activities that will keep you out of doors under a wide sky and push you to the limit. The gateway to Africa, Gauteng might be the smallest province, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in dazzle and action, particularly when you consider that the young Johannesburg is the powerhouse of Africa.

Not everyone is working and networking all the time, however, and there is plenty of action activity available if you but look.

One is seldom short of something to do in Johannesburg, Pretoria and the surrounds. The Cradle of Humankind, the Magalies Meander, lion and nature reserves, beautiful gardens, an elephant sanctuary and two major cities make for a pretty powerful collection of exciting alternatives ... Adrenalin Junkie Activities in the Garden Route

Paragliding in Wilderness

Paragliding in Wilderness

The Garden Route is treated as a province in its own right there is so much to do and see. It is not only one of the most scenic and possibly most visited parts of South Africa, but the Garden Route is also high on the adventure seeker's list of places to visit because of the immediate access to incredible, seldom over-explored nooks and crannies on beaches, forests and mountains.

The Garden Route is described as a 'secret place' and for many it is just that. This slender stretch of coast manages to remain wild and something of a garden of Eden with infinite forested areas, rivers that tumble from mountains to wild rocky beaches that refuse to conform to the 'expected' sedate, to-be-tanned-on expanses so many prefer.

From extreme adventure day trips to mildly adventurous, pursuing an adrenaline rush takes on new proportions in the Garden Route ... Continued

Adrenalin Junkie Activities in the Eastern Cape

Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking

If you are after the unusual; that exciting experience that will get the blood pumping and the exhilaration bubbling up to behind the teeth. If it's adventure with a capital 'A' that takes you out in any weather on any terrain, then the Eastern Cape of South Africa is a good place to begin.

You won't struggle to find adventure in the country's second largest province. The Eastern Cape is one of the country's most diverse and interesting provinces to visit – from the magnificence of the rural Wild Coast, the semi-arid plains of the Karoo, the Sunshine Coast's effortless hours of sunshine and pearly beaches, to Big 7 game viewing or bungee jumping off one of the highest jumps in the world, there is little that will not meet your expectations ...
