I ♥ Salt Rock Because ...

I ♥ Salt Rock

I ♥ Salt Rock

Hi, I’m Louise Hill from Kingfisher Villa in Salt Rock.

Salt Rock IS BEST KNOWN FOR the lovely beaches. The beaches of KwaZulu Natal are lucky enough to have warm water pretty much all year around so a swim is always possible!

WHEN THE WEATHER'S GOOD, I LIKE TO be on the beach.

WHEN THE WEATHER'S BAD, I LIKE TO do the forest walk at Waterberry Cafe. The 150m path is well marked and is, in places, covered with a deck.  The forest is filled with bird life and make sure you look out for the resident buck that lives in the area.  After the walk treat yourself to a cup of tea or coffee and a delicious piece of cake that Waterberry is famous for!

I THINK THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT IS March, BECAUSE the weather is warm. The Dolphin Coast can be very hot and humid during the summer months but by March the weather is just perfect. Continued

Ballito on the Dolphin Coast

Ballito

Ballito

The town of Ballito is one of the Dolphin Coasts premiere Tourist Destinations and the Pearl of the KwaZulu Natal North Coast. Ballito is well known for its superb, safe beaches. For the small price of a licence, which can be purchased at the Natal Sharks Board, you can pick your own mussels off the rocks, collect oysters or bring in fresh crayfish from the Indian Ocean.

Ballito's friendly, village atmosphere is a welcome haven from the fast pace of big city life, yet it offers all modern amenities and services to holiday-makers.

The beaches are the prime attraction and Ballito's main bathing beach, Willard Beach, provides safe swimming and qualified life-guards on duty seven days a week. Lifeguards and shark nets are also provided at Clarke Bay Beach to ensure that parents have a worry-free holiday. Further south is the Ballito Tidal Pool with two different sized pools, both well maintained and home to a wide variety of sea life. Continued
