Reuben’s at the One&Only Cape Town

We had friends from the Lowveld stay with us for the week­end and they very kindly took us to Reuben’s at the One&Only for din­ner on Friday night.  I’ve eaten at Reuben’s in Franschhoek and the Cape Town oper­a­tion (which opened on October 1st) is just as good.

Occupying the area where Gordon Ramsay’s maze used to be, the res­taur­ant was full with people still linger­ing at tables when we left at about 11.30pm.  The space is soph­ist­ic­ated and Reuben serves simple, whole­some, deli­cious food with fresh fla­vours and more than gen­er­ous pro­por­tions. Veritas and Reubens Team Up for a double dose of deli­cious: Lovers of fine wines and gour­met din­ing are in for a two-fold treat this July. Not only will seven Gold and Double Gold award win­ning wines from the 2008 Veritas Awards be show­cased, they’ll be served with a mouth water­ing three-course gour­met din­ner cre­ated by cel­eb­rated local chef Reuben Riffel at his highly rated res­taur­ant, Reubens, in Franschhoek.
