PEARLY BEACH IS BEST KNOWN as the place for relax­ing and the stun­ning, seem­ingly end­less pearly white sandy beaches.

GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN on the beach with the moun­tains as a back­drop or, if you are really lucky, with a whale or two in the background!

WHEN THE WEATHER'S GOOD, I LIKE TO wander along the beach with my dogs and explore the rock pools at low tide.

WHEN THE WEATHER'S BAD, I LIKE TO bat­ten down the hatches and watch the stormy seas from the whale deck and catch up with my read­ing. Continued

OTHER HAPPY SNAPS AT the Cape Columbine Lighthouse. This light­house was com­mis­sioned in 1936 and is situ­ated approx­im­ately 5lm from the town. SEA POINT IS BEST KNOWN FOR
its bust­ling 24-hour cos­mo­pol­itan vibe and just about everything you need is found in this part of the city. Sea Point seems to hum with non-stop activ­ity. Sea Point is also known for the Sea Point Beachfront Promenade. This is a won­der­ful paved walk­way stretch­ing from the Lighthouse in Mouille Point / Green Point to the far end of Sea Point at Bantry Bay.

As you enter Lakeside, the Zandvlei trust has estab­lished a pave­ment garden that has not been without blooms since it was planted, and which indic­ates the edge of the wet­lands. A quiet path­way passes a pond and there is a bench that over­looks the lovely Nature Reserve.
