Hi, Iโ€™m Mia from Jeffreys Bay on the Sunshine Coast of the Eastern Cape.

JEFFREYS BAY IS BEST KNOWN AS a surfing paradise and especially for the world renowned Billabong Pro Surfing competition in July.

Jeffreys Bay

GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN AT the Supertubes overlooking the beach and surfers. This is one of the most popular surf spots in South Africa and you will be sure to find the waves filled with locals who enjoy the surf. For those who wish to show off your skills – remember timing is everything!

THE BEST surfing PICTURES CAN BE TAKEN AT the Supertubes surf spot. Take some pics of the incredible surfing talent Jeffreys Bay has to offer – you will be able to get some fantastic action shots!

WHEN THE WEATHER’S GOOD, I LIKE TO like to sandboard. You will have 3 levels of dune available and there are experienced instructors on hand to assist you. You can begin on the easy slopes until you feel more comfortable for a bit more of a challenge.

WHEN THE WEATHER’S BAD, I LIKE TO go for lunch as we have lots of restaurants to choose from.

Jeffreys Bay

I THINK THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT IS all year around, BECAUSE the weather is always pleasantโ€ฆwarm in the summer with a little breeze and mildly in the winter with beautiful winter swells.

MY FAVOURITE BREAKFAST SPOT IS InFood, which is both a bakery and deli restaurant. It is run by Jayne who is passionate about food. Breakfast offers anything from healthy fruit and muesli to everyone’s favourite bacon and eggs. You can find them on Jeffreys Street.

FOR LUNCH, I SUGGEST Kitchen Windows (23 Diaz Street) or The Greek (corner Da Gama and Beverland Roads).

MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IS Tapas in Aston Bay, dine with your feet in the sand, TRY THE , try the Calamari โ€“ its fantastic, best in South Africa in my opinion!

MY FAVOURITE sunbathing SPOT IS the beach in Paradise Beach.

FOR A NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN TRY The Jolly Dolphin. You are sure to have a great night out at this popular spot. Come and enjoy live music and entertainment and socialse with your friends. You will find them at 30 Diaz Street.

IF YOU WANT TO MEET LOCALS, GO TO Havana, this is a great sports bar and you can find them at Times Square.

Jeffreys Bayโ€™s BEST KEPT SECRET IS In-Food on a Saturday for its live music.

MY FAVOURITE THING TO DO WITH FRIENDS IS go to lunch at In-food on Saturday and listen to the music.

FOR SOME LIVE MUSIC, I LIKE TO GO TO Potters Place as they have a variety of shows.

TO RELAX AND RESTORE MY SOUL, I LIKE TO treat myself to a facial.

IF YOU’RE FEELING ADVENTUROUS, TRY try sandboarding or surfing; a canopy tour in Tsitiskamma or bungy jump at Bloukrans Bridge.

TRAVELLING WITH CHILDREN? A FUN OUTING IS a trip to the African Dawn Wild Life Sanctuary, just 20 minutes from Jeffreys Bay.

Jeffreys Bay

BEST CHEAP AND CHEERFUL OUTING IS horse riding on the beach at Papiesfontein. Feel at one with nature as you gallop along a magnificent stretch of white beach with the wind flying through your hair.

WHEN MONEY’S NO OBJECT, I LIKE TO take surfing lessons or sky dive in the summer.

THE MOST UNUSUAL THING I SEE HERE IS a seal or a penguin.
