Fouriesburgโs BEST KEPT SECRET IS that the town is the capital of the Free State. During the Boer War it was declared the capital while the president resided here. Rumour has it that it was never officially changed back to Bloemfontein again …

WHEN MONEY’S NO OBJECT, I’d LovE TO stay at Maliba Mountain Lodge which is a 45 minute drive from us in Lesotho.
THE MOST UNUSUAL THING I SEE HERE IS the different sandstone formations.
WHEN I WANT TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, I sell our fresh farm milk to the farm workers at the same price as it was in 2004!
I Love Fouriesburg BECAUSE the mountain scenery is never the same from one day to the next and I feel safe and grateful every day.
