I THINK THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT IS in the summer, BECAUSE our outdoor life is so varied.
MY FAVOURITE BREAKFAST SPOT IS the Patisserie in Illovo. Located at 30 Rudd Road they serve a delicious breakfast as well as cakes and other sweet treats.
FOR LUNCH, I SUGGEST Cornuti in Illovo. Open since 1987, this is an Italian bistro that has a stylish ambiance and great food.
MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IS the Butcher Shop and Grill in Sandton. The restaurant is classic and pretentious and has become a South African institution. TRY THE rump.
BEST LATE NIGHT SNACK FROM J B Rivers – the sushi is always superb.
MY FAVOURITE social SPOT IS the Inanda Polo Club.
FOR A NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN TRY pub crawling at the many bars and restaurants in the area.
IF YOU WANT TO MEET LOCALS, GO TO Wanderers Sports Club.
Sandhurst’s BEST KEPT SECRET IS that once a month the magnificent gardens are open to the public. There is a nominal entry fee and the proceeds go to charity.
MY FAVOURITE THING TO DO WITH FRIENDS IS to meet for lunch or breakfast.
FOR SOME LIVE MUSIC, I LIKE TO GO TO The Blues Room at the Village Walk in Sandton.
TO RELAX AND RESTORE MY SOUL, I LIKE TO go to the lunch hour music recitals which happen every Friday at The Old Mutual Theatre on the Square in Sandton.

MY FAVOURITE HIKE IS in the Magaliesburg. There are many to choose from and this area is the perfect place for hiking.

IF YOU’RE HERE IN Easter, JOIN IN THE FUN AT the St Stithians Rugby Festival. A number of school play rugby games during the Festival and its become a firm favourite on the sporing calendar.

I Love Sandhurst Because we are so close to the Sandton CBD and yet in this wonderful leafy suburb with all its old majestic houses.
