A brand new venue has opened at moyo Ushaka Pier. Situated right at the very end of the pier, the new venue is a new double storey glass building that offers 360 degree panoramic ocean views, as well as glimpses of the beautiful Moses Mabhida Stadium in the distance.
Already a firm favourite with local and international guests, moyo uShaka Pier is completely unique in Durban and South Africa – as it’s the only venue to successfully combine the balmy beach with authentic African cuisine and entertainment. And it is the closest guests can get to a cruise liner experience, without leaving shore.
The upper level is ideal as an intimate venue for up to 80 seated guests, or it can play host to 120 cocktail guests – for corporate functions, parties, weddings and more. A tantalising African inspired menu goes hand in hand with the venue, offering unique tapas dishes which complement the existing restaurant menu. A bar and lounge area is on the lower level, and the main moyo Ushaka Restaurant is just 50m away.
Operating partner, Theuns Smuts, says this new venue is the culmination of a lengthy design and negotiation process with the city. “It is completely unique, though,” he says, “and an ideal addition to our current facilities because it combines a breathtaking location with an enticing menu and a wide range of vibrant entertainment.” This venue was christened during the FIFA World Cup, when it hosted hundreds of guests from around the world, who all confirmed it is a thoroughly world-class facility.
