9 Child-Friendly Places To Stay In Cape Town โ€“ Choices When Travelling With Kids

Updated Sunday, 25 February 2024

Cape Town is a top tourist destination. People fly in on a daily basis to experience its mountain(s), sea, wine, food and general joie de vivre. And many of them come with children.

Finding a hotel or guest house that is genuinely child-friendly is not as easy as it sounds, so here are a couple of pointers in the right direction. A venue is really family-friendly if it has any, or most of, the following:

  • Their policy includes children of all ages
  • They can provide cots
  • They can provide babysitting
  • They have a fully fitted kitchen that includes washing machine and/or tumble dryer
  • They have any extras, like a swimming pool

There are many hotels that offer accommodation to children of all ages, and you can search for these here at Family Friendly Accommodation. Whilst not everyone advertises cots or babysitting, it’s best to ask โ€“ some venues will go out of their way to meet your needs.

Here are a few child-friendly choices in and around the city bowl to make it easier for you.

City Bowl

Park Inn

We like them because they provide optional laundry and babysitting services, a build-your-own burger station on their menu, and their view of Table Mountain from the deck is exceptional. They’re also close to the city centre and the V&A Waterfront, which means you can simply walk to most of the sights. There is also a splash pool on the sunroof terrace.

Camps Bay

Villa On The Bay

We like them because they will provide a cot, their heated pool has a safety fence, they have a fully fitted kitchen, a covered patio and lie down a quiet leafy road that is simply a stroll from the beach. Family holiday ease.
