Get Your Glitz On – The Diamond Works Launches CT Showroom

Updated Monday, 6 June 2022

As one of the hottest tourist destinations of the world, Cape Town promises something for everyone. And, for visitors and locals that want an experience that’s really quite special, there’s great news – The Diamond Works has launched their showroom in the heart of Cape Town’s City Bowl.

About The Diamond Works Experience

This is an established diamond institute in southern Africa that celebrates the pure, uncomplicated beauty of the diamond. In addition, tanzanite gemstones (which are 1 000 times rarer than diamonds) are showcased here in their magnificent violet-hued variety.

The Diamond Works already has stores at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, as well as in Windhoek (Namibia), Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. So, they have established themselves as leaders in their field of top-quality jewellery and all things glitzy. Celebrate, learn and buy some of the world’s most beautiful stones and pieces here.

The Diamond Works

The Experience

The Diamond Works invites visitors from abroad staying in Cape Town to immerse themselves in a world where cut, colour, carat and clarity are the parameters for the finest things in life.

Guided tours of The Diamond Works start with sipping on a glittering glass of bubbly or juice before heading to the workshop. Here, the tailored design service enables you to interact with the experts and then design your own piece of jewellery that is uniquely you. A CAD-generated replica will be printed for you in wax. This will then go to the goldsmiths who will create your original piece. Watch your vision be brought to life by the pros.

Tanzanite is an exquisite stone that can be many variations of blue-purple in colour – from the palest shade of pinkish-blue to deep violets with rich influences of midnight. At The Diamond Works, visitors will be able to watch this gem, also known as the Essence of Africa, go from a relatively untouched form to a polished stone that is simply breath-taking. This is the only operating studio in the Southern Hemisphere that is open to the public and allows such a close-up perspective of this process.

The showroom at The Diamond Works is an impressive 814 square metres. This offers the leading diamond experience in the country – displaying and selling some of the finest diamonds and tanzanite stones in the world.

Even More to Look Forward to

The Diamond Works values beautiful quality and is all about showcasing it to the world. Diamonds and jewellery are certainly on the top of this exclusive list. But, the Huguenot Fine Chocolates can hold their own among these “A-listers” quite well too. These Belgian chocolates are created by the boutique chocolatier in Franschhoek, a village in the Winelands that is known for its gourmet cuisine. These dark, white and milk chocolates are imbued with flavours from delicious sparkling wine to celebrate all the best things in life. The MCC truffles are a must.

The boardroom is available to travellers that want an elegant space to work, meet clients or host meetings. There is Wi-Fi available, as well as a comfortable working and brain-storming area. Corporate travellers that would like to make use of this space need to book it in advance.
