Cooking demo at Olivello Restaurant in Stellenbosch

Updated Sunday, 29 January 2017

If you are looking for something different to do next weekend or would like to spruce up your recipe books and cooking skills then a cooking demo at Olivello Restaurant in Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands could be just the thing for you (takes place on Saturday 19th February).

With coffee and biscotti served at 9.30am with the demo commencing at 10am sharp – call up your friends and book a spot before they are all snapped up …

Cooking DemoGorgeous Gougeres with chilled summer shots are a perfect starter to well, start things off!  Paired with a chilled soup they are a perfect served with welcome drinks as an informal first course.  They look good too!

Onto mains … with a choice of three one won’t go hungry.  Retro Roast Chicken, Chilled Serious Sirloin and Pan Fried Peri Peri Chicken Livers are on the menu.

Main courses are accompanied with a goat’s cheese, lentil and potato salad, Gratin de Provence, savoury carrot cake, a salad of marinated courgette ribbons and roast cumin and orange scented olives.  All of these sound absolutely delicious and completely different.

My favourite course is dessert and I would not be disappointed with either a baked blueberry cheese cake or gingered plum frangipane tartlets (although I do have an enormous soft spot for a slice or two of cheese cake!).

Make sure you bring a notebook and pencil with you; there are lots of handy hints and tips for you to add to your recipes.

Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine from Rustenberg Estate as you help yourself to the spread of dishes and enjoy the rest of the afternoon relaxing in good company.

The demo will be repeated on Thursday, February 24th if there is enough interest.

A minimum of 25 attendees are needed.  The price is R295 per person and recipes are supplied.
